Carol Bogezi - President
Carol is from Uganda and she first became involved with Tusubira in 2010 as our in-country Field and Advisory Board Coordinator. She now resides in Seattle and is wildlife science researcher at the University of Washington. Recently, Carol received the Bullitt Environmental Leadership Award and was named among the "Top 40 under 40" influential women of Uganda.
Suzanne PHilen - Secretary
Suzanne is a nonprofit business manager with experience spearheading business initiatives in volunteer organizations. She first became involved with Tusubira in 2007 and launched our scholarship program and Ugandan Advisory Board in 2010.
Joel Masselink - Treasurer
Joel is a Massachusetts native now living in Seattle. He joined Tusubira as our Treasurer, helping to spearhead fundraising. Joel is a GIS professional, and has worked in Uganda and DRC. He visited our partners in Uganda twice (2015 and 2017).
Max Sugarman - Communications
Max is a teacher in the Bronx, New York and previously served in a year long internship for a scholarship program in western Uganda. He joined Tusubira in 2016 as our marketing and social media coordinator.
Louisa Johnson - Program Monitoring and Evaluation
Louisa is currently pursuing her M.A. in Applied Quantitative Research at New York University and has participated in various research and evaluation projects ranging from micro-enterprises in the Bronx, New York to cybersecurity in Southeast Asia. Louisa joined Tusubira in 2016 and is leading its impact evaluation efforts.
Richard Oyel - Field and Advisory Board Coordinator
Richard was a scholarship recipient who completed a degree in biotechnology at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. He has worked for the World Food Programme collecting data and educating rural residents on sanitation and health issues. Richard's role is to assist our partners with Tusubira programs, conduct advisory board meetings and facilitate communication between Uganda and our board.
